夏の終わりにあたり、また新たなお知らせです。この度、私の手織り作品が「第81回 福岡県美術展覧会」の工芸部門に選出されました。今回で3度目の入選となりますが、特筆すべきは、この作品が「Design Weekend Fukuoka」内の展覧会『椅子と日常展』に出品した「織りの椅子」と同じ技法・同じ時期に制作されたものであるという点です。以前ご紹介した「糸が紡ぐ夢」 というストーリーにもつながる、私にとって特別な意味を持つ作品となりました。

建築という本業の傍ら、手織りの世界に挑戦したことで、これまで知らなかった新たな可能性が少しずつ広がっていきました。糸に触れ、色を選び、手を動かしながら形にしていく。その一つひとつの創作のプロセスに、心が躍るような喜びを感じています。

9月8日から13日までの会期中には、多くの方々に足を運んでいただき、作品を観ていただくことができました。また、審査員の方々からいただいた講評からも、たくさんの気づきと学びを得ることもできて、心より感謝しています。

なかでも最終日、アルゼンチンから訪れてくれた彼女との会話は、とても印象深い時間となりました。

「この作品のイメージは、どこから生まれたのですか？」

「これは何を表現しているのですか？」

そんな問いかけに自分の言葉で応えていくうちに、作品をつくる中で向き合ってきた技法や染色、素材について、あらためて考えるきっかけをいただきました。人との対話を通して、糸や色、素材との間にも、さらに豊かな“会話”が生まれていくような、とても刺激的なひとときでした。

2026年の作品展示を通して、作品を発表することは、ただ「見てもらう」だけではなく、人との出会いや言葉を通して、自分自身の創作を深く知ることでもあるのだと感じています。この展示で得た新たな視点を胸に、また次の手仕事へ。

いつか、これから生まれる作品をもっと多くの方々に紹介できる個展ができたらな良いなと心に願いながら、少しずつ歩みを進めていきたいと思います。

秋の空を見上げると、季節の色がまたひとつ、心に映ります。

これからも自然の中にある色を探し、糸に映しながら、新たな表現を探求していきたい。

そんな思いに、今、心を弾ませています。

As summer draws to a close, I have some exciting news to share. My hand-woven piece has been selected for the Crafts category of the "81st Fukuoka Prefectural Art Exhibition." This marks the third time my work has been chosen for this exhibition. Notably, this piece was created using the same technique and during the same period as the "Woven Chair" I previously exhibited at the "Chairs and Daily Life" show (part of "Design Weekend Fukuoka"). It has become a deeply meaningful work for me, connecting back to the story "Dreams Spun by Thread" (https://lafsketch.info/info/6872589) that I shared earlier.

Venturing into the world of hand-weaving alongside my primary career in architecture has opened up new possibilities, and I find the creative process truly exhilarating.

The exhibition ran from September 8th to 13th. I am incredibly grateful to the many visitors who came to see the work and to the judges, whose critiques offered valuable insights.

I was also particularly inspired by a visitor from Argentina who came on the final day. Answering her questions—such as where the concept came from and what the piece represents—sparked a rich dialogue involving my techniques, dyeing methods, and materials, making for a truly stimulating experience.

This exhibition felt like a gateway to a new perspective, born from precious lessons and meaningful connections. I look forward to the day I can share my next creations, and I am eager to continue honing my craft.
